There are times when we look all around us and see others with what we think will bring peace and joy. Things seem bigger, better, and more valuable than what we currently possess. Often, we can actually get one or two of those things and find out that we may actually be worse off. Until we’re focused on the Kingdom of God, those things are just things that will still leave us feeling unfulfilled.
When we’re continuing to feel dissatisfied, discouraged or complacent, we need to look inward and check what we’re trying to fill our lives with. Are we seeking God’s Word to guide us how we can be filled or are we trying to get filled with the things of the world? “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)
There’s a world’s way of convenience; of having everything their way and in a hurry. Wouldn’t we rather be filled with all we have need of in every area of our lives instead of just fed with temporary things that won’t last without God? God knows our hearts and His desire is that we will focus upon Him, for He is our peace and joy provider. Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
We cannot allow our desires of this world hold us to our past. Jesus is Righteousness. Our hunger and thirst for peace and joy in the Holy Ghost is Kingdom Truth that will fill us to overflow. Our focus has to be on the finished work of Christ.
We must have an appetite of Righteousness and seek the King. Luke 11:9, “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Knock at the door of Righteousness, which is Jesus. When you ask Him instead of the world, there’s no room for the enemy. We’ll go through some things, but it won’t change our blessings, for “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)
